11/22/63: Season 1

What If? Would you rewrite history if you could? That’s how Stephen King drew us in with his novel, “11/22/63.” He’s the master of “What If.” And now, as his tale is turned into a mini series, we have a chance to see how Producers JJ Abrams and Bridget Carpenter bring one of the most iconic moments of American history to the screen, and explore some of those “What Ifs.” In this featurette, through interviews and b-roll with King, Abrams, Carpenter, and star James Franco, as well as the rest of the cast and crew, we’ll see: • How King’s story was adapted, including the creation of a new character to help tell the story and the incorporation of Easter Eggs from the Stephen King world hidden throughout the series. • James Franco in action as director of one of the episodes. • The process of bringing the 60’s time period to life - including filming in Dealey Plaza, Texas, the site of the actual assassination, and an in-depth look at the lead characters period wardrobe from Costume Designer Roland Sanchez.

James Franco stars as Jake Epping, a high school teacher at a loss with his life, who wants to make a difference and do something meaningful. Encouraged by his ailing friend (Chris Cooper), Jake journeys back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The story transports audiences into the world of 1960s Texas as Jake explores the multiple mysteries surrounding the alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. But Jake's mission faces threats not only from Oswald, but from Sadie, a beautiful librarian he falls in love with, and from the Past itself... which doesn't want to be changed.
